Killen (1934-2013) was an English folk singer of some renown who recorded this album while living in upstate New York. She recorded ten other albums as a leader, plus three with the Clancy Brothers. Born Louis and known as Lou at the time Sea Chanteys was recorded for ESP-Disk', Killen underwent gender reassignment later in life.
